Honey Garlic Salmon for Two

Ingredients
  

  • 2 salmon fillets about 6 oz each
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 cup asparagus trimmed
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Whisk together honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic in a small bowl to make the glaze.
  2. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear the salmon skin-side up for 3 minutes until golden.
  5. Flip the salmon and add the asparagus to the skillet around it.
  6. Pour the honey garlic glaze over the salmon and asparagus.
  7. Preheat the oven broiler and transfer the skillet under the broiler for 4 to 5 minutes until the salmon is glazed and flakes easily.
  8. Stir the butter into any remaining sauce in the pan.
  9. Plate the salmon and asparagus, spooning extra glaze over the top and sprinkling with sesame seeds if using.
