Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup natural peanut butter
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened almond milk as needed
  • 8 thin pretzel sticks broken into small leg-length pieces
  • A few small red candy-coated chocolate pieces for the hourglass mark
  • Pinch of salt

Method

  1. Add the peanut butter, chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, honey, and salt to a mixing bowl.
  2. Stir until a thick, dark dough forms, adding almond milk a teaspoon at a time if too dry.
  3. Roll the mixture into small round balls to form the spider bodies.
  4. Gently press four pretzel stick pieces into each side of the balls to create eight little spider legs.
  5. Press one or two small red candy pieces onto the top of each ball to mimic a black widow's hourglass marking.
  6. Place the bites on a plate or tray.
  7. Chill in the fridge for at least 15 minutes to firm up.
  8. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

A small bag of pretzel sticks and a handful of red candy pieces go a long way, so the spooky spider details add just pennies to the base fudge recipe.
