Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup natural peanut butter
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened almond milk as needed
  • A few drops of red gel food coloring for the bite marks
  • Pinch of salt

Method

  1. Add the peanut butter, chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, honey, and salt to a mixing bowl.
  2. Stir until a thick, dark dough forms, adding almond milk a teaspoon at a time if too dry.
  3. Roll the mixture into small round balls.
  4. Using a toothpick, press two small dots close together into the top of each ball to mimic vampire bite marks.
  5. Dip the toothpick into the red food coloring and dot a tiny bit into each puncture mark for a dramatic bitten effect.
  6. Place the bites on a plate or tray.
  7. Chill in the fridge for at least 15 minutes to firm up.
  8. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

A single small bottle of red food coloring lasts for years across countless recipes, so the dramatic bite mark detail costs practically nothing extra.
