Method
- Whisk together soy sauce, honey, and cornstarch in a small bowl to make the sauce.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet or wok over high heat.
- Add the sliced beef and sear for 2 to 3 minutes until browned.
- Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the broccoli florets to the skillet with a splash of water and cover to steam for 3 minutes.
- Add the garlic and ginger, stirring for 30 seconds.
- Return the beef to the skillet.
- Pour in the sauce and toss everything together until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli.
- Serve over the cooked white rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
Notes
Thinly slicing a smaller cut of steak stretches it much further than it looks — partially freezing the beef for 15 minutes beforehand makes it much easier to slice thin.
